Sorry it's been so long since I've updated the blog!

Many apologies for not updating the blog more often!
Our website is open for taking orders! I've finally gotten the hang of printing shipping labels via Paypal for the past several months.
The turnaround time for orders has been about 3-4 business days from the time you place your order to the time I ship. Sometimes the holidays cause delays in shipping, however, because USPS is very busy this time of year! Please be patient if your order doesn't arrive right away, and if you have any concerns, please email me and let me know! I am more than happy to help ease your concerns and figure out where the delay might be.

Thank you so much for your patience and understanding! Our family has been very busy lately. I am developing some new products that I intend to put through testing and up on the website around March. Shooting for sooner, but I will say March to be safe :)

Okay, holy smokes, please don't hurt me!

I'm a little behind (no pun intended) on my orders. I've *just* finished all the orders that have been made since I re-opened my site on Sunday night.

We've had a number of family issues come up this week, and I am so very sorry for being delayed.
I'm fairly certain everything will be finished tomorrow and be shipped as well!

I just wanted to give a little update, and a big apology for keeping those booties waiting :)

Okay... So our cubes turn to liquid, despite being in boxes!

What a bummer!
I received a couple emails that the cubes were melted when they arrived to their destinations. The good news is, they aren't completely ruined. You can put the package of melted cubes in the refrigerator or freezer, then when they harden back up, you can cut them with a kitchen knife. Generally, I cut each cube to about the size of a fingernail (did you just look at your fingernails too?)...
I don't want to make them completely unavailable during the hot summer months, because I know some of you just love your cubes! Yay! That brings a smile to my face :)
However, I did make a big red attention message so my summer shoppers can decide whether or not to purchase insurance,
The other good news is that I am putting the foaming solutions, and the liquid concentrates on sale for the hot months, to encourage customers to try our other wonderful products!
And, on to the not-so-good news. Some of you may know that my daughter and I are currently going through a rough patch, as I am a single work at home mother raising my daughter 24/7. I would love to be at home with her for as long as I can, while raising and teaching her well. So I have decided to continue making Booty Cubes products as long as it allows me to stay at home with my daughter. No sympathy please - my daughter was the inspiration behind Booty Cubes and all of the products I make, so I thought it was important to share that information. Every choice I make in life, I try to make with the best interest of my beautiful, sweet little girl!
Now as teary-eyed as I am, feel that I should give a big thank you to my wonderful customers and those who have given Booty Cubes products such wonderful reviews!!

Oh HOORAY! Maybe I *can* keep shipping cubes during the hot months!

So I ordered some bulk shipping boxes (the unmarked kind so I can ship them via first class mail to provide affordable shipping) so I might just be able to continue shipping cubes through the summer!
I'm really hoping this works. I know the heat might still be a problem, but at least the cubes are less likely to get squished! Whew!
This past week I've successfully learned how to print shipping labels through Paypal!!!
Now I don't have to stand in line at the post office forever!!!

You have no idea how excited this makes me :)
I'm thinking my next plan of action will be to start using the package pickup provided by USPS, so then I wont have to physically go to the post office (except for International orders, but still, I like getting out of the house now and then so I'd welcome International orders for that very reason!)...

Today I shipped ALL outstanding orders - except for one order which was placed just before the post office closed.

So with that, ALL orders as of 8:00 p.m. PST this Thursday June 5th have been SHIPPED!
Except for jeffg...@yah...com - your order will be completed tomorrow and shipped on Saturday!

Tomorrow I will be going to my Grandma's because I want to use her big table to dye some fabrics and projects I have going :)

Long weekend! Post Memorial Day update

So everyone who ordered last week, and over the weekend, AND on Memorial day - Your items have all been shipped!!!

A few of my orders that were placed this morning (currently Tuesday, May 27th, 6:40 p.m. PST) have been shipped as well!! :D

Whew! It feels good to be back, and have a nice new computer!
Wool wash bars are in planning, and will be in the making sometime within the next couple weeks.
I'll also be adding sample size (small travel size) foaming solutions soon, but my bottle supplier only shipped half my order so I need to get that fixed before adding them to my site.

I'm not sure what I'll be doing this summer with the heat - because when I ship the cubes in bubble mailers, sometimes they get squished when handled by USPS... Heat + cubes + USPS squishy = melted icky Booty Cube mess in a bubble mailer.

So, I'm thinking it might be best to close my website to small orders for the summer and only ship large boxed orders (i.e. to retailers via wholesale order) so my awesome customers can purchase their diapers and Booty Cubes all in one stop!
Any ideas, comments, or concerns are welcome!

I'm in the process of collaborating with a WAHM who makes cloth baby wipes (and other fun baby stuff) - she would like to send her customers Booty Cubes samples with the wipes. I'm so excited for her! She is a really sweet momma, and she has AMAZING crocheting talent! Check out some of the items she makes (click here, click here!)...

One of these days I want to make one of those cool world maps that shows little dots where my Booty Cubes have found homes. Last week alone I shipped to 3 different countries :)
Booty Cubes are available for purchase in Malaysia (her website isn't open for business quite yet), and Canada now. I also had a momma from South Africa order some cubes.

Another momma gave me some ideas for projects to work on... Getting an inventory sheet made up, so I can print it and mail it, or email it to people who are interested. Much easier than sifting through my website, I think :)
(Working on my website to make it easier to read is a project in itself since I am so TALKATIVE... are you asleep this far into my post? LOL)

The second project will be trying to figure out how to make a discount code option on my website, and a group mailing list for my frequent buyers and happy customers (i.e. my fellow cloth diaper obsessed peers).

Am I allowed to spam my own blog?

LOL, so I just wanted to start out by spamming an auction I'm doing over on Spots Corner for a fancy dancy hand-dyed (by me) Goodmama cloth diaper. I'm in love with how beautiful it turned out, but I want to raise some funds to get more supplies.

A really wonderful customer of mine sent a note the other day asking when/if I would start making lotions. It's been a thought I've had for a while now, but I'd like to get a good start on purchasing supplies so I can get everything in place to add it to the website :)

Also, I just like dyeing fabrics! My daughter has so many diapers, we really do not need to add any more cloth diapers to the stash!

Oh, I also wanted to let everyone know that ALL orders placed BEFORE NOON Pacific Standard Time today (Monday, April 21) have been SHIPPED! Woohoo!!!

My wholesale order to More Than Cloth Diapers (Canada) will be shipped tomorrow.

Extended down time for Booty Cubes website

Sorry everyone - the website will need a little more down time. The good news is that we had a fairly productive and busy weekend.

It was time for a much needed spring cleaning - which means my supply area is organized once again! I'll be able to find and make my products much more efficiently now because of the organizing I got done over the weekend.
Today I finished up the Booty Rash Salves. All they need now before I can put them up on the website, is labels!
I'm wishing my printer could handle printing stick-on labels, but for some reason, the adhesive paper and my printer do not get along very well. My printer tends to munch the adhesive paper up, instead of printing on it. So for now, I print and cut my labels, then stick them on with clear tape. Not very high tech, but more affordable than paying to have them made. This keeps my Booty Cubes products more affordable, which is one of my top priorities :)

The reason for the extended website closure is for more time to work on the website, since I didn't get it finished this weekend (spring cleaning kept me busy). I'm so sorry about the wait everyone, but when it opens back up Wednesday *crosses fingers* we will have some new products and the website should be easier to navigate!!

Website maintenance over the weekend

Hi everyone!

I'm going to be closing my website for the weekend, so I can do some routine site maintenance. I noticed a few wording errors that need to be corrected. Also, I'm going to turn the "more info" page into a FAQ page so it is easier to read. Right now it is a jumbled mess of words, I admit!
Talking is one of my favorite things to do, so my website tends to be wordy :)

I'll be fixing the "For Little People" page to include my top picks of 3-in-1 body wash, foaming wash, and bar soaps that are fun for kids! Scents like Gummi Bears, Root Beer, Cotton Candy, and other fun scents will be included :)

If you need anything, please don't hesitate to send me an email!
I'm more than happy to fill a few orders while my site is undertaking a few minor changes! :)

Getting caught up

Alright!!
I've got all of my orders caught up (made, packaged AND shipped! woohoo!) except for the following:

and for the record; one mama from DS who ordered on 3/28 is waiting for her items to arrive. USPS can be slow sometimes. I really hope the package didn't get lost in transit, but it hasn't yet been 9 business days. I'm SO relieved that this momma is being patient and isn't mad with me. Times like this, I wish there was something I could do to speed USPS up. But all I can do is wait a reasonable amount of time, and do my best to resolve the issue so we are both happy :)

I will definitely try!

Short update

Everyone is sick here - we're a little sluggish but still getting things done!
Every order placed before 9 a.m. PST today (Monday April 7th) has been shipped!!
Orders placed over the weekend and late Friday were shipped today.

So if you placed an order after 9 a.m. PST today, I will have your order made ASAP and shipped ASAP as well :)

Booty Cubes is in the media!

The folks over at the Cloth Diaper News mentioned my Booty Cubes in one of their articles!!!
Oh my goodness, I'm so excited!!!

In other news, my daughter's first birthday was last Thursday. We were going to celebrate this weekend by going to the Newport Aquarium, but my daughter got sick so we stayed home and had a yummy family meal. Maybe next weekend we can go to the Aquarium.

How long does the solution last after dissolving the cubes?

I received this question in an email today, and thought I would post my response here just in case anyone is wondering. :)

The Grapefruit Seed Extract (GSE) that is added to most of my blends is a very gentle natural preservative. GSE has anti-microbial/anti-yeast/anti-fungal properties to help keep your wipes water cleaner for longer.
I would recommend keeping a spritz bottle of solution near your changing station - keeping it in a spritz bottle will keep it fresher for a lot longer than dumping it directly on cloth wipes (especially if you use a wipes warmer).
I've kept a bottle inside DD's diaper bag and it has lasted us a couple months and hasn't gone bad yet! It still smells fresh, and has no gunk floating inside the bottle at all!
We also keep a tupperware container full of cloth wipes that I pour the solution over. The longest I've ever let them sit like that is about 2 weeks (I forgot about them inside DD's diaper bag) and they smelled fresh when I opened the container after 2 weeks.
Usually we keep enough pre-wet cloth wipes to last 3 days, and then we wash all of our cloth wipes along with our cloth diapers.

In conclusion; It is my belief that the solution will stay cleaner longer when it is stored in a spritz bottle. Let me elaborate; hands and random particles from the air will be going into the wipes container throughout the day. However, the solution inside the spritz bottle will not be coming in contact with bacteria or germs that may potentially be lurking on your hands or the cloth wipe fabric.
I hope this helps answer the question, for anyone who was curious :)

I ran out of distilled water this morning and will have to pick some up from the store to finish the orders for foaming solution.

I think it would be a lot quicker and more efficient, especially because having a ride to the post office (before it closes) is hit and miss depending on the day.
My 1 oz tubes for the Booty Rash Salve have shipped! They should arrive at the end of the week, or beginning of next week! Then I can heat up and pour the ingredients in them, snap a few pictures, and get them up on my website ASAP!

Starting my new system!

Okay so here I go, starting this new system so my customers know what the status of their orders are:

~~~ALL orders placed during the last week of MARCH have been shipped!
~~~Any orders placed after NOON on Friday (March 28th) were shipped on Monday (March 31st)
~~~ALL orders placed on Monday (March 31st) have been shipped, with the exception of Amber from Mudshrimps (www.mudshrimps.com) because I am waiting for fabric to get here to share with her :)
~~~Orders that were placed in the wee hours of the morning today (Tuesday April 1st) have been made and shipped, but orders that were placed in the afternoon or later have not been shipped yet. I just started working on those orders for you all *wink*


I appreciate the emails asking for updates on your individual orders, and I am happy to respond to keep you updated :)
This blog system is in the works so that hopefully it will inform customers, while also keeping things efficient for me (sometimes I get unorganized and forget to email my customers, *blush*)
I've gotten quite a few orders this week and have been a little swamped. There was a sweet mommy who wrote a nice review for Booty Cubes on diaperswappers the other day, so I think it brought in quite a bit of interest. That is wonderful for my daughter and me!! Thank you everyone for your orders!

We are thrilled to announce a new product in the making!
Booty Rash Salves are coming soon - I just placed an order for 1 oz push-up tubes for the Booty Rash Salves. They will be packed with skin-healing ingredients (some of the same ingredients that are in our Booty Cubes) and will be cloth diaper safe!
Take a look at our ingredient list for them: Natural unbleached filtered beeswax, peach kernel oil (nourishing, moisturizing), apricot kernel oil (nourishing, moisturizing), jojoba (healing), emu oil (healing, nourishing), calendula oil (healing), organic olive oil (nourishing, naturally contains vitamins and anti-oxidants), and fresh Mandarin and Pink Grapefruit essential oils for a lovely fresh scent!
Eventually I'd like to have 2 different scents - One with the Mandarin and Pink Grapefruit, and the other with Rose/Geranium because Rose and Geranium essential oils are two of the most gentle essential oils out there. Rose is said to be a beauty secret against aging, which is why it is used as a toner and in many beauty products. Geranium has quite a few wonderful qualities as well, is gentle, and it smells delightful :)


I've decided not to offer bundles of wipes any more. I just don't have the time to sew wipes, and I think there are a lot of WAHM's out there who make wonderful wipes (and to be honest, are better quality than mine, which are pinked with pinking shears). If anyone really wants a bundle, I would certainly pink some for them! But I think at this point, I will just keep doing the free wipe with each 2 oz package of cubes (but no more bundles of 5).

Okay, off to go edit my website, bye bye wipe bundles! Maybe some day when I get a chance, I could collaborate with a WAHM who makes cloth wipes, and offer wipes again :)

Booty Cubes has a blog now!

Well hey, other WAHM's are doing it, so I guess I might as well do it too :)

So hmm, where to start?
Last week I added and got rid of a few scents from the fragrant cube line;
Added: Pink Sugar, Maple Sugar, Golden Apple, Carrot Cake
Discontinued: Strappleberry, Root Beer, Banana Cream Pie, Apricot Freesia

Actually I only really replaced 4 scents with new ones - because those scents weren't selling as much (oh I feel bad for the unpopular kids because of this)...

Well, since this is my first blog post, I want to stress that I LOVE making and selling Booty Cubes. For some reason, researching and reading up about essential oils (and skin healing ingredients in general) just fascinates me to no end. I've got a half dozen books on essential oils and EO safety.
Since I'm just one person and I only have two hands, I like to keep my blend choices to a minimum. It does take me a bit of time to make the orders and get everything all packaged up, but I still try to have everything shipped as SOON as I can.
Most of the time I try to update people on the status of their orders - but as embarrassing as it is to admit, I do forget to email people sometimes!

I'm thinking that this blogspot will make due as a system that will let customers know the status of their orders AND it will be quicker and more efficient for me :)

I'll be adding more later - time to go pick up some packaging supplies!
